Visions of Light and Love

Description: This workshop celebrates Black history through arts and crafts that highlight themes of light and love, encouraging participants to express appreciation for culture and community.

Activities:

  • Quilting: Participants collage fabric squares that represent themes of love and light. Each square can be decorated with symbols or words.

  • Accordion Books and cards : Participants will create their own accordion books and/or cards, where they can illustrate and write about themes of love, light, or significant people in Black history.

  • Portrait Collages: participants will create collages that reflect influential Black figures and moments in history, incorporating images, quotes, and artistic elements that evoke discussions about love and community.
